Abstract An analysis of flowsheets for processing sulfide and oxide copper ores, reagent modes, processing equipment, and flotation indicators in some domestic and foreign processing plants and productions is carried out. Autogenous and semiautogenous mills are commonly used in the primary grinding stage in ore processing plants, which excludes medium and fine crushing. The alternative is …

1 Types of copper sulfide ore (1) Single copper mineral Its ore characteristic is relatively simple, and the only useful component that can be recycled is copper. The gangue minerals are mainly quartz, carbonate and silicate. (2) Copper-sulfur ore Called copper-bearing pyrite. In addition to copper minerals, iron sulfide can be recovered, and the main mineral of sulfur is pyrite.

The content of copper and sulfide in the disseminated copper-sulfide ore is low, the copper-sulfide ratio is relatively large, and the ore generally contains 10%-40% pyrite. The gangue is unevenly infiltrated with copper minerals and pyrite, and some pyrites closely co-exist with copper minerals, and the aggregates have large particle sizes.

A copper sulfide ore was crushed to passing 3.36 mm, then the crushed product was ground by bed breakage or ball milling. The effect of microwave pretreatment on ball mill grinding and bed breakage was investigated in terms of mineral liberation, particle shape, and floatability.

12.3 Primary Copper Smelting 12.3.1 General1 Copper ore is produced in 13 states. In 1989, Arizona produced 60 percent of the total U. S. ore. Fourteen domestic mines accounted for more than 95 percent of the 1.45 megagrams (Mg) (1.6 millon tons) of ore produced in 1991. Copper is produced in the U. S. primarily by pyrometallurgical smelting ...

surface methodology (RSM) for grinding modeling of some copper sulphide ores. In the present work, the effects of some key grinding parameters such as ball size (20–40mm), grinding time (10–30min), solids content (65–80%), and also ore work index (12–15.4kWh/t) on the grinding of some copper sulphide ore were investigated.

Copper sulfide ores are typically the most profitable copper ore type to mine. That is because they have high copper content, and the copper in them can more easily be separated from unwanted ...

Sep 02, 2021· Copper ore beneficiation methods. Before the beneficiation of copper ores, crushing and grinding are required. The bulk ores are crushed to about 12cm by a jaw crusher or a cone crusher. Then the crushed materials are sent to the grinding equipment, and the final particle size of the copper ore is reduced to 0.15 0.2mm.

A copper concentrate could be produced from Ore A with approximately 28% Cu grade at 76% recovery. Use of Na 2 S and MBS improved flotation response of Ore B to some extent, and a copper concentrate was produced assaying 21.62% Cu at 52.36% recovery. The copper flotation performance of the mixed ore samples was just between the two ores, as ...

Copper can be extracted from its ore by: Underground: sinking a vertical shaft into the Earth to an appropriate depth and driving horizontal tunnels into the ore. Open pit: 90% of ore is mined by this method. Ores near the surface can be quarried after removal of …

01 One Stage Grinding-Flotation Process. Grinding fineness is an important factor affecting the beneficiation index of copper sulfide ore.If the grinding particle size is too fine, the ore is easy to be over-crushed, which affects the separation process and increases the grinding cost.If the grinding particle size is too coarse, the copper minerals will not be effectively dissociated, which ...

The nickel-copper sulphide ore used in this study was supplied by Trojan Nickel Mine located in Bindura, Zimbabwe. From the X-ray diffraction analysis, the main phases present in the ore were pentlandite (49.4%), pyrrhotite (41.2%) and quartz (4.6%), Fig.1. The ore which was supplied in lumpy form was subjected to crushing and grinding.

Abstract The reported effects of the grinding method and grinding medium upon the flotation performance of sulphide minerals has shown that the pulp chemical environment, the ore composition, the properties and type of the grinding media, the size reduction method employed, pre-conditioning stages prior to flotation, and reagent interactions during grinding (and conditioning) can influence the ...

Highlights Copper ores (copper oxide ore and copper sulfide ore) were crushed by a jaw crusher and by HPGR. Crushed and sized products were evaluated for particle damage and copper grain exposure by X-ray computed tomography. Column leaching was done to determine the rate and extent of copper recovery. HPGR crushed products have more particle damage and higher copper recoveries. …
